Matic Herman

Head of hardware development at Sentinel Marine Solutions

Matic Herman began their career in 2006 as a Researcher at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where they worked on embedded system design, data acquisition systems, and data loggers. Matic also conducted research on modelling and characterization of the dynamic properties of solar cells. In 2009, they became the Head Developer at E-Ideja, Tehnične rešitve. In 2012, they moved to BISOL Group, where they worked as an R&D Engineer and Product Manager, designing and optimizing offgrid PV and storage systems, and developing new off-grid products. In 2014, they became the Head of Hardware Development at Sentinel Marine Solutions, and also worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Xlab d.o.o., where they developed a low power universal embedded platform for security, tracking, and diagnostic primarily designed for marine solutions.

Matic Herman received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, between 2000 and 2005. Matic then went on to receive a Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) from the same institution between 2008 and 2011.
