Jasleen Sodhi

Associate Director, DMPK at Septerna

Jasleen Sodhi has a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacogenomics. Jasleen began their career in 2006 as a Research Associate at Milagen, Inc., where they identified and detected serum-based large molecule biomarkers of major cancers and applied proprietary protein multiplex immunoassay to validate over 200 biomarkers for early cancer detection. Jasleen then joined Genentech in 2009 as a Senior Scientific Researcher in the Department of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, Metabolism of Xenobiotics Group. During their time there, they designed and executed hypothesis-driven studies to address project-specific metabolic liabilities, disconnects between in vitro and PK data, and to further SAR to support all project teams. In 2015, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the University of California, San Francisco in the Laboratory of Dr. Leslie Benet. Her research topics included identifying xenobiotic transporter involvement in complex drug-drug interactions, and improving the in vitro to in vivo extrapolation of human hepatic clearance. In 2020, they joined Plexxikon Inc. as an Associate Director and Senior Scientist. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Septerna as an Associate Director.

Jasleen Sodhi received their BS - Double Major from the University of California, Berkeley, where they majored in Molecular and Cell Biology (emphasis in Neurobiology) and Psychology. Jasleen then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from the University of California, San Francisco in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics.
