Adam Kimmel has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Adam started their career as a Student IT Intern at Jefferson Lab in 2010, where they focused on troubleshooting systems, diagnosing and resolving server cluster GPU problems, and developing software to increase productivity. After that, they worked as a Software Developer Intern at Perfect Commerce in 2011, where they debugged and fixed code, implemented an automatic signing service using DocuSign, and wrote automatic test cases using Selenium. In 2012, they briefly worked as a Software Developer at ParasitX, where they upgraded the GUI for The BeerBugTM device and implemented communication over Bluetooth, graphing data, and exporting data sets. From 2013 to 2015, Kimmel worked at TASC, Inc. as a Software Development Analyst 3, where they developed and implemented complex requirements for a high-volume ingestion system for unstructured data, created XML transforms and interfaces for data ingestion, and implemented software interfaces and XML rules for data processing. Currently, Kimmel is working at Sequoia Holdings, Inc. as a Senior Software Developer, where they have migrated an entity extraction system from a legacy system to AWS, implemented automatic build and deploy abilities using Jenkins and AWS CloudFormation, and created 24/7 monitoring using CloudWatch. Adam has also implemented auto scaling policies and health checks for automated termination and creation of new instances, as well as moved streaming system code from a Spring configuration to Apache Nifi.

Adam Kimmel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Christopher Newport University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Adam then pursued further education in the same field at Christopher Newport University, earning a Master of Science degree from 2011 to 2013.
