Nicholas Pilkington

Nicholas Pilkington is a seasoned technology leader and entrepreneur, currently serving as the CTO and Founder of DroneDeploy, a prominent robotics and unified reality capture platform established in March 2013. In addition, Nicholas holds the role of Scout Investor at Sequoia Capital, focusing on early-stage investments in machine learning, computer vision, and SaaS companies. Nicholas co-founded Luno, initially known as BitX, which was the first BTC/ZAR exchange, and has a background in software engineering through internships at Toshiba and NVIDIA, where innovative solutions in GPU computing and graphics card driver development were undertaken. Nicholas holds a PhD and a Masters in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge, along with an undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Rhodes University.
