Mark Jones has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mark started their career in various roles within the departments of Training and Industrial Relations, Workers Compensations, and Queensland Transport from 1986 to 1998. Mark then worked as the Business Manager Information Solutions at the Department of Employment, Training and Industrial Relations from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2003, they served as the Program Director for Access Queensland at the Department of Innovation and Information Economy. Mark then moved on to become the Director of Integrated Service Delivery and Architecture at the Department of Public Works from 2003 to 2005. Following this, they worked with Queensland Health as part of the Health Review Team in 2005. From 2005 to 2009, they served as the Program Director (IJIS) at the Department of Justice, leading the reform of criminal justice business design. Mark then worked at Ergon Energy as the Manager of the Program Management Office from 2010 to 2011. Mark joined Queensland Rail in 2012, where they held various roles such as Senior Portfolio Manager, Program Director of the Enterprise Asset Management System, Manager of the PMO, General Manager of Strategic Projects, and finally, Group Senior Manager of EPMO from 2012 to 2022. Currently, Mark serves as the Head of the Portfolio Office at Seqwater from 2022.
Mark Jones has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 1984 to 1986. Mark also has a High School degree from Iona College, completed between 1979 and 1983. Additionally, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Management from Western Sydney University in 1998. In 2008, Mark pursued Managing Successful Programs from Tanner James, specializing in the Foundation field. Finally, in 2011, they completed a Change Management degree at YellowHouse.
