Griffin Ruehl has extensive experience in research and engineering. From 2012 to 2014, they served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Montana State University-Bozeman, working with Dr. Stephen Sofie on chemical synthesis and optimization for perovskite based fuel cell catalyst materials. In 2013, they were an International Research Experience for Undergraduates (IREU) Scholar at Tsinghua University, conducting research on materials synthesis and optimization for ferroelectric capacitor devices. In 2014, they were a Research Internship in Science & Engineering (RISE) Scholar at the University of Freiburg, researching materials chemistry synthesis and characterization for ferroelectric energy storage devices. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Washington, researching a fundamental understanding of surface science and catalysis, focusing on the interaction of a catalyst surface with reactant molecules and intermediates. Currently, they are a Senior Engineer, Analytical Chemistry at Serán Bioscience.
Griffin Ruehl began their educational career in 2011 at Montana State University-Bozeman, where they achieved a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies - Global & Multicultural Studies by 2016. Griffin then pursued a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington, which they completed in 2018. Currently, Griffin is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
