Stephanie Venn-Watson has extensive experience in various scientific, medical, and research roles. Stephanie is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Seraphina Therapeutics, where they use advanced technologies to develop anti-aging molecules that treat clinical disease and address core drivers of aging. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder and CEO of Epitracker, Inc., where they led efforts to unlock medical breakthroughs using insights from dolphins.
Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Venn-Watson served as the Director of the Translational Medicine & Research Program at the National Marine Mammal Foundation, focusing on research at the intersection of marine mammal and human health. Stephanie also worked as a Technical Agent at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), making investments in breakthrough technologies for national security.
Venn-Watson's career also includes roles at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where they served as a Project Director for the WHO Global Salmonella Surveillance Program and as the Executive Secretary for the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. Stephanie Venn-Watson has a strong educational background in public health and veterinary medicine. Stephanie began their education in 1990 at UC San Diego, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience in 1994. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University from 1995 to 1999.
To further enhance their expertise, Stephanie undertook a Master of Public Health program at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health from 1999 to 2000, specializing in Epidemiology and Health Education. Building on these prior educational experiences, they pursued a post-doctoral position at the National Research Council Associate, Armed Forces Medical Intelligence Center from 2001 to 2002, focusing on Public Health and Veterinary Epidemiology.
