Lance Fenton

Partner at Serent Capital

Lance is a Partner at Serent Capital. Since joining Serent in 2008, Lance has focused on the financial services market, where he currently leads the firm's activities in fin tech, payments and specialty finance.

In addition to financial services, Lance has spent considerable time in, and has made investments in, the hospitality and real estate services and technology markets. While at Serent, Lance has worked closely with portfolio company executive teams to identify and execute on value creation initiatives that have dramatically improved topline performance and accelerated growth. These initiatives include new market entry, new product development, sales force design and improvements, and M&A. Lance's investments include growth equity and buyouts in the payments, software, BPO, and specialty finance markets.

Prior to Serent, Lance was with Fortress Investment Group in the firm's Real Estate, Gaming, and Hotel group, where he worked on investments totaling greater than $750 million. Prior to becoming an investor, Lance was a teacher in the hardest-to-staff public schools in New York City through an AmeriCorps sponsored Fellowship Program. Lance has a BA in History from Cornell University, a MA from the City College of New York in Secondary Education, where he graduated magna cum laude, and graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar with an MBA from Stanford University.
