Derek Harrold

Derek Harrold possesses extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Wells Operations Lead at Serica Energy plc since January 2024. Prior to this role, Derek held positions as Lead Well Engineer at TAQA Group, Wells Manager for the UK, Europe, and Africa at Vysus Group, and Senior Well Engineer at CNOOC International, where key contributions included leading decommissioning and appraisal projects. Additional experience includes serving as Drilling Superintendent and Senior Drilling Engineer at TAQA Group and Talisman Energy, respectively. Education includes a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geoscience & Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor’s degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh.
