Jason Hawthorne

Jason Hawthorne is an experienced legal and commercial leader, currently serving as General Counsel and Head of Content & Commercial at Serko Ltd. since March 2019, where efforts focus on innovating business travel through a technology-powered approach. Prior to this role, Jason was Lead Legal Business Partner at Spark New Zealand, overseeing the Corporate Legal Function and contributing to M&A transactions. Earlier experience includes positions at Google, where Jason supported the launch of travel offerings in Europe, and Expedia, where Jason led the legal team at ebookers.com. Additional roles include legal counsel at Gardiner & Theobald and Russell McVeagh, along with a secondee position at Fonterra. Jason holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Auckland.
