Mark K. Smith

Mark K. Smith PhD serves as a Limited Partner at Serra Ventures since March 2017 and has been a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since September 2002, focusing on topics such as entrepreneurship, financial markets, corporate finance, and options. Additionally, Mark has held significant roles in various research centers, including Administrative Director at the Illinois Intel Parallelism Center and Executive Director of the Universal Parallel Computing Research Center, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets and fostering industry partnerships. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director of the Gelato Federation and Director of Product Marketing and Sales at SourceGear Corporation, as well as co-founding Geomagic, Inc. Mark's educational background includes an MBA in Entrepreneurship and a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
