Jay Carmona

Jay Carmona currently serves as the Senior Transformation Coordinator at SEIU, a position held since December 2022. As the Founder and CEO of Sematonic Strategies since June 2017, Jay has focused on building decentralized organizing networks to foster social change. Previous roles include Project Manager at Support Class, Interim Executive Director at Power Shift Network, Consulting Engagement Director at Hylo, and Digital Manager at Stand.Earth, among others. Notably, Jay oversaw the National Community Divestment Campaign at 350.org, which led to significant municipal divestments from fossil fuels. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
