John Gray

John Gray has extensive experience in legislative affairs and public policy, currently serving as the Director of Legislative Affairs and Deputy Director of Government Affairs at the Service Employees International Union since March 2013. Prior to this role, John worked at NOAA, leading the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, where responsibilities included representing the agency's interests to Congress and advising senior officials. John also held key positions at AARP as Economic Outreach Director, at AFL-CIO as Chief Analyst in the Office of Investment, and at the Steve and Jean Case Foundation as Vice President of Corporate Affairs. Earlier in John's career, significant roles at the U.S. Department of Commerce included Director of the Office of Business Liaison and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Policy Studies from Rice University and a Master's degree in Public Policy from The University of Texas at Austin.
