Josh Bernstein

Josh Bernstein is a seasoned professional in immigration policy and advocacy, currently serving as the Director of Immigration at SEIU since January 2009. Previously, Bernstein held the position of Director of Federal Policy at the National Immigration Law Center from September 1994 to December 2008 and worked as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Harry Pregerson from September 1993 to September 1994. Early career experience includes roles as a Welfare Advocate at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and as Director at Californians for a Fair Share, focusing on grassroots advocacy for low-income families. Bernstein earned a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law between 1990 and 1993, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania from 1973 to 1978.
