Neil van den Hoek has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Neil started their career as a Geo-technical Engineer at Coffey Geotechnics in 2002. Neil then worked as an Assistant Engineer at Rolls-Royce, where they were involved in designing power-generating gas turbine skid units.

In 2005, Neil joined Atkins, a leading design consultancy, as a Mechanical Engineer. During their tenure at Atkins, they worked on various mechanical design projects, including wastewater treatment works and water treatment works.

In 2008, Neil joined UGL Limited as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Neil'srole primarily focused on multi-disciplinary design and construction contracts, involving wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, and power generation systems.

From 2016 to 2017, Neil worked at Novo Rail Alliance as a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical Services). Neil played a crucial role in the major upgrade of one of Sydney's primary CBD underground train stations, managing the Wet Fire, BMS, Spot Cooling, and HVAC.

Neil then joined RCR Tomlinson as a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer from 2016 to 2018. Neil'sresponsibilities included leading and managing the refurbishment of three major underground train stations in Melbourne's CBD.

From 2018 to 2022, Neil worked at Lendlease as a Senior Project Engineer. Neil was a part of Sydney Water's Liveable City Solutions team and managed engineering projects ranging from $400k to $35M. Neil'srole involved writing business cases, developing concept designs, and preparing detailed scopes of work.

Currently, Neil is working at Service Stream as a Lead Design Manager since June 2022. Neil is responsible for managing design and engineering projects.

Neil van den Hoek attended The University of Salford from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a 2i BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering with French. In 1999, they also studied at Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) for a year, obtaining a BEng degree in Engineering, Computer Programming, French, and The European Union.
