Nikhil Junankar

Nikhil Junankar has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Nikhil is currently serving as the Director of Network Engineering at SES Space & Defense since August 2022. Before that, they worked at Leonardo DRS for a significant period, starting as a Help Desk Technician in 1996 and progressing to various management positions. At Leonardo DRS, Nikhil served as the Principal Network Engineer, Manager of Network Engineering, Senior Manager of Engineering Services, and ultimately as the Director of Network Engineering. In these roles, they demonstrated technical leadership and successfully implemented cost-efficient network solutions, resulting in significant business growth and operational cost savings. Prior to their tenure at Leonardo DRS, Nikhil worked as a Network Engineer at Fannie Mae, an Operations Engineer at Mediacenters, and a Senior TAC Engineer at Covad Communications. Nikhil began their professional career as a Help Desk Technician at Signal Corporation after obtaining their Microsoft MCSE (NT4.0) certification.

Nikhil Junankar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Science and Management Information Systems (DMIS) from George Mason University, where they attended from 1996 to 2000. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications from Juniper Networks, including JNCIE-SP in January 2011, JNCIP-M in October 2007, and JNCIA-FWV in August 2010.
