Ahmed Baghdady, Ph.D, PE

Ahmed Baghdady, Ph.D, PE has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Ahmed is currently serving as a Senior Project Manager at SESI Consulting Engineers since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services from January 2018 to March 2022.

Ahmed started their career as a Geotechnical Engineer at Dar Al Handasah in January 2008. During their time there, they actively participated in geotechnical studies, supervised geotechnical investigation programs, and designed deep excavation support systems, dewatering systems, and foundations for various projects in the Arab Gulf region, Africa, and the Middle East. Ahmed also prepared geotechnical reports for these projects.

Additionally, Ahmed gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from September 2014 to December 2017.

In 2014, Ahmed enrolled in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they pursued a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management. Ahmed completed this degree in 2015.

During their time at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ahmed also pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering. Ahmed successfully completed their Ph.D. in 2017.
