Gianluca Maccarone

Gianluca Maccarone has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Gianluca is currently working at Sessions as the VP of Engineering, starting in June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at theUp.co (ServedUp/ChargedUp) from September 2019 to June 2023, where they held multiple positions including Chief Technology Officer, Head of Engineering, Lead Engineer, and System Engineer.

Before that, Gianluca worked at Labrador Ltd from July 2017 to July 2019 as a Full Stack Developer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing an IoT big data ingest process, developing customer energy console dashboard, and creating authentication/authorization module for company APIs.

Gianluca also worked at Root Capital LLP as a Full Stack Developer from October 2016 to July 2017, where they developed a back-office platform for online counseling using Node.JS and ReactJS.

Gianluca's earlier experience includes working at Social Streaming | Social Kitchen | Social Veg from January 2014 to September 2016 as a Solution Architect and Full-stack Developer, where they designed and developed real-time video streaming and chat solutions for company products and led development teams.

Gianluca started their career at ExcogitaNet in July 2006 and held various roles including Account Manager, System Administrator, Java Developer, Flex Developer, and worked on Thesys. Their employment at ExcogitaNet lasted until December 2013.

Gianluca Maccarone completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Milano from 2003 to 2006. Gianluca then continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from 2006 to 2009.
