Bettina Forget

Director, Artist-in-residence (air) Program at SETI Institute

Bettina Forget has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Bettina began in 1992 as a freelance graphic designer, working with clients such as Petro Canada and Greiche & Scaff. In 1997, they founded their own graphic design company in Singapore, serving clients like Caterpillar Asia and Chase Manhattan Bank. From 2001 onwards, Bettina focused primarily on their art career, operating their own studio and exhibiting their work at various galleries. In 2014, they delved into the field of branding and visual storytelling, working as a coach and consultant. Bettina also held leadership positions, such as being the Vice-President and Director of Fine Arts at Convergence Initiative. More recently, they have been involved with the SETI Institute as the Director of the Artist-in-Residence Program, facilitating interactions between artists and scientists to explore new ways of understanding and expressing the mysteries of the universe. Throughout their career, Bettina has demonstrated a multidisciplinary approach, combining their artistic and graphic design skills to create meaningful and impactful work.

Bettina Forget has a comprehensive education history that includes degrees in various fields of study. In 1989, they attended Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (University of the Arts London) where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Graphic Design. Subsequently, in 2000-2001, they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts at both Curtin University and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued a Master's degree in Art Education at Concordia University. Building on their Master's degree, they went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Art Education at Concordia University, starting in 2017 and continuing to the present day.
