Dave Hartung

Dave Hartung has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Dave began their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Advanced Ion Beam Technology, where they were involved in the research, development, and manufacture of ion implant systems for the semiconductor industry.

Dave then moved on to Consolidated Sterilizer Systems, where they initially worked as a Mechanical Engineer, focusing on part and assembly design using SolidWorks and P&ID creation using AutoCAD. Dave later transitioned into a Controls Engineer role, where they specialized in controls engineering for sterilization systems.

Dave then joined Bose Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineer, starting as a Manufacturing Engineer III and later advancing to Manufacturing Engineer IV. Dave focused on high-volume, automated manufacturing of speaker cones and utilized their expertise in industrial controls to upgrade equipment, make software changes, and solve long-standing problems.

After their time at Bose, Dave worked as an Automation Engineer at Rapid Micro Biosystems, focusing on automation engineering in the life sciences industry.

Most recently, Dave has been working at 6K as an Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Manager. In this role, they established controls engineering procedures, best practices, and workflows, while also developing the controls strategy for the company. Dave was responsible for hiring and managing a team of engineers and technicians and overseeing the design and implementation of controls and instrumentation systems for machine-build projects.

Throughout their career, Dave has demonstrated a strong background in controls engineering, with experience in P&ID creation, instrument specification, control panel design, PLC programming, and HMI design.
