Emmanuel Lafond

Emmanuel Lafond has a diverse range of work experience in the field of engineering. Emmanuel is currently working as the Manager of Optical Engineering at Seurat Technologies, where they oversee the design, assembly, testing, and maintenance of the beam patterning and beam delivery section of 3D printers. Emmanuel collaborates closely with various teams such as Supply Chain, Laser Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software and Electrical Engineering, and Equipment Manufacturing.

Before joining Seurat Technologies, Emmanuel worked at Luminus Devices where they held multiple roles. Emmanuel started as an Engineering Program Manager, leading the New Product Introduction of near-UV LEDs and custom wavelength LEDs for various applications. Emmanuel later became the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, overseeing Product Engineering, Supply Chain, and Shipping & Receiving for specialty lighting LED products. Additionally, they served as the Package Engineering Manager, responsible for transferring high brightness LEDs from design and prototype phases to pilot production in Asia.

Prior to Luminus Devices, Emmanuel worked at FARO Technologies as an Opto-Mechanical Systems Engineer. Emmanuel developed manufacturing processes for precision alignment and UV curing and obtained a patent for their work.

Emmanuel also gained experience as a Laser Micromachining Process Engineer at Bright View Technologies. Emmanuel analyzed and improved the company's process for micromachining optical films, significantly increasing process speed.

Earlier in their career, Emmanuel worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Principle Investigator and Research Scientist, where they led a project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense. Emmanuel also worked as an Associate Scientist and a Post-Doctoral Fellow on other government-funded projects.

Emmanuel's first professional experience was at the E.A.D.S. (Airbus Industries) Corporate R&D Center, where they served as a Scientific Assistant.

Emmanuel Lafond completed their education in a chronological manner. Emmanuel started their academic journey in 1987 at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI), where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Fundamental Physics in 1990. Following this, they pursued their studies at the same university and received a Master of Science (French D.E.A. degree) in Optics & Photonics from 1990 to 1992. Emmanuel's educational achievements continued as they joined the University of Paris XI & Industrial Lasers & Photonics Lab, where they ultimately earned a Ph.D. in Optics & Photonics, specifically a Doctorate of Science, from 1992 to 1995.
