Sunwoo Joo

Sunwoo Joo is a Junior Engineer at the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans since August 2018, with a strong academic background in Chemical Engineering and Philosophy from Louisiana State University. Joo has experience as a Senior Design Project Team member, focusing on the production of styrene monomer and conducting process simulations and safety analysis. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, Joo optimized a catalytic system for water treatment and presented research findings to faculty. Additionally, roles as a Student Worker at the Louisiana State University International Cultural Center and a Mathematics Instructor at Yoeonsei K2 Academy highlight Joo's commitment to supporting international students and teaching high school subjects. Joo also served as a Recitation Leader in the Physics Department, contributing to reduced class failure rates through effective mentoring.
