Troy Wolverton

Troy Wolverton is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in technology reporting. Currently serving as the Senior Technology Correspondent for the San Francisco Examiner since February 2024, Troy previously held the role of Managing Editor at the Silicon Valley Business Journal from January 2021 to December 2023, overseeing coverage of commercial real estate, technology, venture capital, startups, and small businesses. Prior to that, Troy worked as a Senior Tech Correspondent at Business Insider, where a focus on startups and venture capital led to numerous analysis pieces and investigative articles. Earlier positions include Personal Technology Editor, Columnist, and Reporter at The Mercury News, as well as Senior Staff Writer at TheStreet.com and roles at other notable publications. Troy holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor’s degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin.
