Rachel Sheild, MPH, MFA, has nearly twenty years of experience in advocacy, public policy, and community engagement. Currently serving as the Conservator of Estate for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community since March 2022, Rachel previously held the role of Director of Congregational and Community Engagement at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. An independent consultant from 2012 to 2020, Rachel specialized in public policy, advocacy, storytelling, and community engagement. Additional experience includes positions at CBE International, The Uganda Adoption Group, The Pregnancy Pause, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, the United States Senate, and the Department of Health and Human Services. Educational credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Rachel's work demonstrates a commitment to using storytelling as a powerful tool for positive change.
