Babar Shahzad

Babar Shahzad is a seasoned construction manager with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Sr. Construction Manager at Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd since June 2025, overseeing the construction execution of a significant 2000 MW utility-scale solar power plant. Prior to this role, Babar held several construction management positions at Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited, successfully managing projects including a 117.5 MW UAE Pilot Wind and Solar Project and a 1.2 GW solar project. Babar began the professional journey at Al Gihaz Holding as a Project Manager, contributing to substation projects, and previously worked as an Electrical Engineer at the Water and Power Development Authority. Babar holds a Master of Science in Generation and Smart Grids from COMSATS Institute and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Federal Urdu University.
