Cary Kindberg has been a GIS/GPS/Data Management specialist for more than 20 years and joined Shannon & Wilson in 2021. He has been involved in many aspects of multidisciplinary environmental consulting including data collection, data analysis, data management, geodatabase design, and map production. Since joining he has become the GIS manager for the Seattle office and the director of the Drone Committee for the company.
Cary has worked on large scale field data collection efforts for pipelines, asset inventories, Superfund sites, and industrial cleanup and long-term monitoring. His work has taken him all over the Pacific Northwest from California to Alaska and has spent months at a time on field assignments. He has been involved in designing data collection plans, overseeing field GPS and data collection, managing data flows in and out of the field, training and managing field staff. Cary’s experience includes data collection in the air from helicopters and drones, on the water from vessels, AUVs, ROVs, and on the ground with survey-grade and mapping-grade GPS.
