Veselina Yakimova

Veselina joined Shannon & Wilson in January of 2020 following the completion of her master’s degree in Geosciences. As a graduate student specializing in structural geology, she was involved in numerous projects including characterization of faulting in the Chugach mountains, landslide risk mapping in coastal Alaska, petroleum and minerals exploration, gold mining, and imaging of the ocean floor aboard research vessels in the Pacific and the Atlantic. She also participated in science outreach and education programs such as EarthScope and GeoForce.

Since joining Shannon & Wilson, Veselina immediately became engaged in the DOT&PF Statewide Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Environmental Services term contract as well as various contaminated sites projects on the North Slope of Alaska. She has gained experience with coordinating subsurface explorations, door to door well searches, residential well sampling, field screening and soil sampling, data review and management, public relations, drafting proposals, work plans, and reports.
