Principal Engineer For Manufacturing And Quality at Shape

Charles Mattingly has a diverse and extensive work experience in various engineering and leadership roles. Charles started their career in 1998 as a Supervisor of Production Engineering and Equipment Design at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee, where they were responsible for designing and developing new tooling and equipment. Charles later became the Engineering and Maintenance Section Leader, managing a department serving automotive component production.

In 2013, Mattingly joined North American Lighting, Inc. as the Assistant General Manager of Engineering. Charles led multiple engineering teams and collaborated with other departments for new product launches and equipment automation.

In 2016, they moved to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems as the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. Charles was responsible for developing and qualifying manufacturing processes for aerospace systems and promoting continuous improvement activities within the component plants.

Most recently, Mattingly joined Shape Corp. in 2018 as the Principal Engineer for Manufacturing and Quality. Charles quickly progressed to a leadership role after 8 months as a technical Program Manager. In this role, they manage programs from planning to launch, focuses on maintaining timing and quality, and produces key performance indicators for suppliers and in-process and customer quality. Overall, Mattingly has a strong background in engineering and leadership, with a focus on manufacturing and quality.

Charles Mattingly obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
