Valerie Williams

Valerie Williams has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in human resources and wellness. Valerie is currently the Global Corporate HR Director - Organization & Talent Development at Shape Corp., a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Corporate Human Resources Manager - Org Effectiveness at Shape Corp. from January 2021 to June 2021. Valerie also served as the Senior Manager Human Resources Operations at Shape Corp. from August 2018 to June 2021, where they provided HR partnership and consulting for global corporate function teams.

Before joining Shape Corp., Valerie worked as a Human Resources Consultant at The Janus Firm from September 2017 to August 2018. In this role, they provided HRIS support and generalist coordination for recruitment and selection processes.

Valerie's earlier work experience includes roles at Shape Corp. as a Human Resources Generalist - HR Operations from June 2015 to September 2017, a Wellness Manager for the Shape Family Wellness Program from July 2010 to July 2015, a Wellness Specialist involved in strategic development from July 2009 to June 2010, and a Wellness Specialist from February 2008 to July 2009. Valerie also worked as a Program Manager at HealthFitness from July 2007 to February 2008, and as an Assistant Director - Fitness at Kettering University from May 2006 to June 2007.

Valerie began their career as a Health and Fitness Intern at Lands' End in 2006.

Valerie Williams completed their B.S. degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Western Michigan University, where they attended from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their undergraduate education, Valerie has pursued various certifications to enhance their professional skills. Valerie obtained certifications in Human Capital Strategist, Change Management for HR, Strategic Human Resources Business Partner, and People Analytics for HR from the Human Capital Institute. Valerie also acquired certifications in Adaptive Leadership for VUCA Challenges, Leadership Development & Succession Strategist, and Strategic Workforce Planning from the Human Capital Institute (HCI). Furthermore, they received a certification in Systems Thinking from LinkedIn. Valerie's most recent certification, obtained in December 2022, is in Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute.
