Dr. Milton L. McGowian has extensive work experience in the field of culinary services and resident services. Dr. Milton L. currently holds the position of Vice President of Resident Services at The Sharon at SouthPark since October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Culinary Services at The Sharon at SouthPark from January 2019 to October 2021.
Dr. McGowian is also involved in various board positions. Dr. Milton L. is a Member of the Board of Trustees at the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation starting from June 2023. Additionally, they serve as a Member of the Board of Directors at LEADINGAGE NORTH CAROLINA since May 2022.
Earlier in their career, Dr. McGowian held responsible roles at Westminster Communities of Florida, where they served as the Director of Dining Services from April 2017 to January 2019. Prior to that, they worked at North Florida Retirement Village, Inc as the Director of Culinary Operations from June 2002 to January 2017.
Dr. Milton L. McGowian, CDM, CFPP, MCP, FMP has a diverse educational background. Dr. Milton L. holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Business Administration from Liberty University, which they obtained from 2018 to 2022. In 2020, they also pursued a degree in Nutrition, Sanitation, and Foodservice Management with a focus on Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services from the University of Florida. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management from Liberty University between 2017 and 2018. Dr. McGowian's bachelor degree, obtained from 2014 to 2017, is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration and Management. Lastly, they hold a High School Diploma from Palatka High School, which they acquired between 1989 and 1993.
Additionally, Dr. McGowian has obtained various certifications to enhance their expertise. Dr. Milton L. holds a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education (obtained in 2021), a Certified ServSafe Instructor & Registered ServSafe Examination Proctor certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (obtained in 2021), and a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM-CFPP) certification from the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (obtained in 2020).
