Bob McGowan

Bob McGowan is a Senior Software Architect at SharpHat. Bob was previously the Director of Application Development at Rising Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from July 2017 to June 2018. Bob has been in the software development industry for over 20 years.

Bob was the technical lead and primary project manager on a multi-company project intended on serializing Rising’s entire product line to conform with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act. While awaiting installation of SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals, they developed an interim product serialization system using C# and Microsoft SQL Server to parse, database, and transmit GS1 EPCIS formatted serialization data files.

Bob also authored numerous utilities in .Net/C# for support of EPCIS and EDI data processing, including bulk Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) generators, data parsers, processors that database EDI data, and automated file movement utilities.

Bob was assigned to spearhead the data warehouse maintenance project, improving load times of data feeds from varied sources in system in multiple formats. Bob also architected and implemented several Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes using SAP Data Services to transfer data from SAP HANA to Rising’s data warehouse in SQL Server. Bob created a process template, instructed the development team on the new architectural approach, and oversaw implementation of further ETL processes.

They are on a team with D.J. Mulligan - Front End Developer, Chintan Panchal - Senior Software Architect, and Nicolas Acosta - Senior Software Developer. Their manager is Cy Lee, CTO.
