Mahmud Hussain, Ph.D, has a diverse work experience in the fields of research and development, antibody engineering, and academia. Mahmud is currently employed at Shattuck Labs as the Associate Director of R&D, starting in January 2024, and previously held the role of Principal Scientist, R&D from May 2022 to December 2023. Prior to joining Shattuck Labs, Mahmud worked at Precision BioSciences, Inc., where they held multiple positions including Scientist III, Antibody Engineering from January 2021 to May 2022, Scientist II, Antibody Engineering from June 2020 to December 2020, and Scientist I, Antibody Engineering from June 2017 to May 2020. Mahmud also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2013 to 2017 and as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from 2006 to 2012. Mahmud started their career as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology from 2004 to 2006.
Mahmud Hussain, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2004. Mahmud then pursued their doctoral studies, specializing in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, at North Carolina State University from 2006 to 2012, where they obtained their Ph.D.
