Sam Bridges-Sparkes

Sam Bridges-Sparkes has a diverse work experience across various companies and roles. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leader at Bournemouth University. In 2009, they joined GlaxoSmithKline as a Business Analyst, where they focused on problem prevention and performance restoration. Sam then joined FDM Group as an IT Consultant in 2011, completing industry training in Unix, SQL, and Java. During this time, they also had a client contract with RBS. In 2014, they joined RBS Markets and International Banking as a Reporting Developer, specializing in Cognos and Qlikview software. Sam progressed to the role of Reporting Team Lead and later joined Barclays in 2015 as a Qlikview Contractor. In 2016, they became a BI Senior Analyst Developer at Barclays Investment Bank. Their next move was to Aon in 2018, where they initially worked as an Analytics Architect and later became the UK Data & Analytics Platform Lead. Finally, in 2023, they joined Shawbrook Bank as the Head of BI Analytics & Strategy.

Sam Bridges-Sparkes attended Queen Elizabeths Hospital in Bristol from 1999 to 2006, where they obtained 11 GCSEs and 3 A-Levels. They then went on to study Computing at Bournemouth University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a BSc(Hons) 1st degree.
