Roald van Borselen

Roald van Borselen is a highly experienced professional in the field of geophysics and petroleum technology. Currently serving as Senior Research Advisor at Shearwater GeoServices since October 2023, Roald also holds the position of Chair of the Board of Directors for the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) since May 2025. Previously, Roald worked at Aramco from March 2016 to October 2023 as a Senior Research Science Consultant and Center Director. Additional roles include Board member for IPTC from October 2022 to July 2023, and Membership & Cooperation Officer at EAGE from June 2012 to June 2018. Roald's extensive career began as a Geophysicist at Amoco Production Company from October 1995 to February 1999 and includes a tenure as Managing Director at PGS from March 1999 to March 2016. Educational qualifications include an MSc and PhD in Geophysics from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from the University of Surrey.
