Jennifer Kmet has a diverse work experience. Jennifer started their career as a scientist at Kimberly-Clark from 1996 to 2002. Jennifer then worked at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as a Program Coordinator/Research Specialist from 2006 to 2008. Jennifer has been with the Shelby County Health Department since 2008, starting as an Epidemiologist until 2010, then promoted to Senior Epidemiologist until 2020. From 2020 to 2021, they served as the Deputy Administrator of the COVID-19 Response Unit and is currently the Chief Epidemiologist.
Jennifer Kmet completed their Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and French at Purdue University from 1990 to 1996. Jennifer then pursued their Master's in Public Health (MPH) with a specialization in Epidemiology at The Ohio State University from 2004 to 2005.
