Claudio Filomena

Claudio Filomena is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive experience in the measurement, monitoring, and verification (MMV) sector, particularly within the context of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS) technologies, serving as Senior MMV Advisor for Shell's European CCS portfolio since June 2017. Prior roles include leading research projects on MMV technology development and operating as a geologist for the North Field East offshore appraisal project. Claudio's career began with a Ph.D. and post-doctoral research focused on high-resolution sonic logging and reservoir heterogeneity at GeoZentrum Nordbayern, with earlier experience in basin modeling at Schlumberger and geological field studies in Saudi Arabia. Educational qualifications include a Diplom in Geowissenschaftler from the University of Tübingen and a Ph.D. in Geology from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
