Chartered in 1936, SVEC maintains over 7,600 miles of electric lines and serves more than 90,000 member/owners' accounts in the counties of Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren in Virginia. Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative was the first electric cooperative chartered in Virginia.
