Brian Barnette, CHCIO, CISSP, CPHIMS, PMP serves as a Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Shepherd Center. In this role, Brian provides tactical leadership of all of Shepherd Center Information Services, as well as strategic technology planning for the organization.
Brian combines a deep technical background with broad healthcare experience. His information technology career spans almost three decades across a wide variety of technology platforms and certifications. Brian’s extensive career in healthcare information technology includes serving as a consultant with TrustPoint Solutions of Atlanta for five years, where he held operational or project roles with the University of Vermont Medical Center, UC Irvine Health, Georgia Regents University Health System, and Piedmont Healthcare. Brian also spent 17 years at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, serving the last six years as Chief Information Officer.
Brian has earned multiple certifications in healthcare information technology including Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management and Systems (CPHIMS); and Project Management Professional (PMP). He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology (BSIT).
