Gillian Carty

Gillian Carty is a Partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn, having joined the firm in 1993 and been promoted to partner in 2001. Under Gillian's leadership, the Restructuring and Insolvency team has become one of Scotland's leading practices. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Solicitor and Assistant Solicitor within the insolvency and debt recovery teams, where expertise was established in contentious insolvency matters and court advocacy. Notably, Gillian was the first solicitor in Scotland to pass the JIEB examinations in 2000. Additional experience includes membership on the Audit and Risk Committee of the Scottish Fiscal Commission and the Audit Committee of the Joint Management Board for Scotland Office/Office of the Advocate General for Scotland. Gillian holds an LLB (Hons) degree from The University of Edinburgh.
