William Gene Cole

William Gene Cole has extensive work experience in various legal roles. From 2017 to present, they have been serving as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Sherloq Solutions, where they are responsible for developing compliance management systems, investigating consumer complaints, and conducting compliance audits. From 2004 to 2017, they worked as a Corporate Counsel at Amscot Financial, managing the legal-collections function and handling check collection cases in civil courts. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2004, they served as an Assistant General Counsel at The Florida Office of Financial Regulation, where they filed administrative complaints and litigated administrative actions. William Gene also worked as an Associate Attorney at Butler Pappas, practicing first-party property insurance defense. Furthermore, they worked as an Assistant General Counsel at The Florida Office of Financial Regulation from 1997 to 2000, managing administrative complaints and public records requests. Before their legal career, they served in the US Army as a mechanic/paratrooper from 1987 to 1989.

William Gene Cole received their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Finance from the University of South Florida, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Juris Doctorate degree in Law from Florida State University, completing their studies from 1994 to 1997.
