Brad Thomas

Brad Thomas has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Brad started their career at TANEx Engineering Corp. in 2016 as an Engineering Intern. Brad then worked as an Engineering Intern at Basecamp Innovations Ltd. in 2017. In 2018, they joined TransAlta as a Project Engineering Intern. At TransAlta, they later took on the role of Development Engineer (EIT) in 2020, where they played a key role in growing the company's renewables portfolio by leading engineering on various wind, solar, and storage developments. In 2023, Brad joined Shermco Industries as a Power Systems Engineer (EIT), where they specialize in consulting on power systems challenges for generators across the North American grid, with expertise in NERC PRC and MOD assessments of compliance and electromagnetic transient modelling of synchronous generators and inverter based resources.

Brad Thomas attended the University of Calgary from 2015 to 2020, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
