Sarah Stata, MBA, CSCP, SCMP has over 30 years of experience in supply chain management and procurement. Sarah began their career as a Summer Student at Sherritt International Corporation in 1992 and worked their way up to become a Purchaser and later a Purchasing/Logistics Supervisor at SherrittPower Ltd. In these roles, they coordinated export packaging, transportation, and procurement for various projects.
In 2001, Sarah joined Sherritt Power as a Manager of Purchasing, where they were responsible for overseeing purchasing activities. Sarah then transitioned to NGC Process Systems in 2006 as the Materials Manager, where they implemented procedures to reduce material costs and implemented a Just-in-Time inventory approach.
Sarah returned to Sherritt International Corporation in 2007 as a Project Controller/Project Procurement Manager, providing project controls and managing procurement activities for capital projects. Sarah later became the Director of Supply Chain, overseeing strategic procurement, logistics optimization, and inventory reduction. Sarah also managed a team of 6 managers and 40 indirect reports.
In 2014, Sarah became a Member of the Board of Directors at the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council, contributing their expertise to the organization.
Currently, Sarah is the Vice President of Operational Services at Sherritt International Corporation, a role they assumed in 2024. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Global Supply Chain, where they were responsible for the global supply chain operations.
Throughout their career, Sarah has demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, procurement, logistics optimization, inventory reduction, and project controls. Sarah holds an MBA degree and is certified as a CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) and SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional).
Sarah Stata obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Lethbridge. Sarah later pursued an MBA in Global Leadership from the University of Fredericton. In 2011, they completed a certification in Supply Chain from APICS.
