Mike Annett

Mike Annett has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mike is currently employed as the Head of Engineering at Shield Safety Group, a leading provider of food, fire, and health & safety software. Prior to this, Mike held the position of Interim CTO at CognAssist, a fast-growing educational technology company that utilizes neuroscience research. Mike was responsible for revitalizing the development team and improving product quality.

Earlier in their career, Mike worked at Tribal Group as the Technical Director, overseeing software development teams. Mike also served as the Director of Development, managing software development teams within Tribal Technology Solutions. Before joining Tribal Group, Mike was the Software Development Manager at Fretwell-Downing Data Systems, where they led a team of 60 developers and successfully launched multiple commercial products.

During their tenure at Fretwell-Downing, Mike also held positions such as Project Manager, Technical and Project Lead, and Systems Developer and Team Leader. Mike was responsible for various technically demanding assignments and played a key role in implementing new technologies.

Mike's work experience dates back to their time as a Student Placement Programmer at SPECTRA-TEK UK LIMITED. Mike developed high precision embedded systems for the oil and gas industry, including software used in the BP Buchan oil platform.
