Malik Zaheer-ud-Din KB has extensive work experience in the field of disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA), and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Malik Zaheer-ud-Din has held various roles in different organizations, including Shifa Foundation, Syspons GmbH, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan, freelance consultant, ICCO, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH) Regional Office, Oxfam, ERRA/UNDP, SACHET-Pakistan, and Danish Red Cross/ECHO. Throughout their career, Malik has been responsible for program management, project evaluation, proposal development, training and capacity building, and coordinating disaster response efforts. Malik Zaheer-ud-Din has also worked extensively on topics such as multi-hazard vulnerability and risk assessment, disability inclusion in DRR, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness. Malik has collaborated with numerous national and international organizations, demonstrating their expertise and versatility in the development sector.
Malik Zaheer-ud-Din KB pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2005 to 2007, they attended the University of Peshawar, where they obtained a Master's degree in Sociology. Following this, they enrolled at the Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Master's in Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Public Health.
In addition to their formal education, Malik Zaheer-ud-Din KB has also obtained several certifications. In 2010, they completed the First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches Online Course offered by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC. Recently, in 2023, they acquired certifications in Effective Humanitarian Response Management and the Sphere Standard from Concern Worldwide. Furthermore, they hold an Associate in Risk Management - Enterprise Wide Risk Management (ARM-P) certification from ADP.
Malik Zaheer-ud-Din KB has expressed interest in other areas as well, as indicated by their pursuit of certifications in Climate Change & WASH Resilient from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Climate Change and Climate Change and Health, From Science to Action from Yale University (through Coursera). Malik Zaheer-ud-Din has also shown an inclination towards emergency management, as they completed the Emergency Management course from Open University Australia. Finally, they hold a certification as a Mental Health Counselor from the Danish Red Cross.
