Quamrul Arefeen PhD has a long and varied work experience. Quamrul started their career in 1993 as a Junior Engineer at BOC Bangladesh Limited, where they were responsible for supervising the daily operations of a nitrous oxide and a carbon-di-oxide plant, in house research to accommodate customer demands, and employee management. In 2000, they joined SpeedFam-IPEC as a Process Engineer II, where they developed recipes for Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) tools, addressed process related issues, and was actively involved in the process development for new and existing CMP tools. In 2001, they became a Sr. Applications Engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, where they were involved in the slurry development of Cu CMP and post CMP clean chemistry, evaluated the level of interaction between different consumables, and generated customer quality presentations. In 2004, they joined Dupont Air Products NanoMaterials as a Sustaining Engineer and a Principal Research Engineer, where they were the first point of contact for all DANM products provided to major customers, established an open line of communication with the technical lead of the major customers, and conducted demos at the DANM lab or at customer sites. In 2012, they returned to Air Products and Chemicals as a Technical Account Manager. Finally, in 2014, they joined Shin-Etsu MicroSi, Inc. as an Account Manager and Product Development Engineer, where they developed relationships with semiconductor and OSAT packaging teams to identify material needs, assessed needs and feedback requirements to corporate R&D for consideration.
Quamrul Arefeen PhD began their educational journey in 1987 when they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Quamrul then attended Texas Tech University, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering (Environmental) in 1995 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1999. Prior to their higher education, Quamrul Arefeen PhD attended Dhaka College. In 2012, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from DuPont.
