Emma Ashley-Roth is a professional therapist with extensive experience in bilingual and trauma-informed therapy. Currently serving as a therapist at Shine a Light Counseling Center since April 2024, Emma previously worked as a staff therapist at La Familia Counseling Service, where responsibilities included providing therapy to children and their families, as well as conducting assessments and treatment plans in compliance with Medi-Cal standards. Prior roles include a trainee position at CORA, where Emma supported survivors of relationship abuse, and internships providing therapy in diverse environments such as Jail Behavioral Health Services and various support services. Emma holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature and Sociology from Clark University.

We are a 501c3 non-profit counseling center located in Santa Cruz, Watsonville, and Monterey, California. Our goal is to provide high quality yet affordable psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. We provide services on a sliding scale, meaning that our fees are based upon your income.
