Alex Hartz

Alex Hartz is a seasoned venture capital professional currently serving as a General Partner at Shine Capital since June 2023. Previously, Alex held the position of Partner at SciFi VC from January 2017 to June 2023, contributing to early-stage investments with a focus on fintech, marketplaces, and science. Notable achievements include leading initial funding rounds for several startups, such as AccessOS and Peach Finance. Prior to this, Alex held various roles, including Analyst at HVF Labs and Strategist at Glow, Inc., with a strong background in market research and startup evaluation. Alex began a career in tech and research through internships and fellowships at organizations such as Vision Technologies, Caltech, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Caltech.
