Heather Leaver has a diverse work experience. Heather worked as an Instructor and Presenter at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education since 2017. Prior to that, they held various roles at Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, including Behavioral Health Manager and Tribal Opioid Grant Director, Behavioral Health Clinician, and Assessment Coordinator-TANF Program. Before that, they worked as a Psychotherapist/ Case Manager II at Harbor View Community Services Center from 2007 to 2014. Additionally, they have experience as a Behavior Specialist/MFT Intern at Olive Crest-Canal Street Elementary School, a Behavior Consultant at ABC, Inc., and a Behavior Specialist at UCI-CDC.

Heather Leaver earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UC Irvine between the years 1999 and 2001. Heather later pursued their Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology-Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, completing their studies from 2002 to 2005.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is a federally recognized Native American Tribe practicing sovereignty and self-sufficiency. We also offer outreach services through the Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo Counties.
