Laura Larson-Tucker is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in advocacy, administrative support, and community development. Currently serving as the Managing Family Advocate for the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians since October 2019, Laura has previously held positions such as Administrative Clerk for Placer County and Business and Employment Specialist for Golden Sierra Job Training Agency. In addition to roles as Case Manager for the Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California, where involvement with the Sierra Native Alliance was established, and Office Manager for Placer Painting Co., Laura also managed operations at Old Town Pizza. Academic credentials include an Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Sociology from National University and an Associate's degree in Social Science & Liberal Arts from Sierra College.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is a federally recognized Native American Tribe practicing sovereignty and self-sufficiency. Our vision is to empower Tribal Members to thrive in the modern world while preserving their cultural foundations. The Tribe provides healthcare to many within the local community through the Shingle Springs Health and Wellness Center (Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy). We also offer outreach services through the Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo Counties. The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is deeply committed to sustaining and improving the quality of life for both Tribal Members and the general community alike. This guiding principle is a responsibility and a privilege of the Tribe as it strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of its members, employees and patrons.
