Nelson T. Sanders Jr. is a seasoned professional in the fashion and hospitality industries, currently serving as the Owner of Dandy, a custom suiting business that infuses Detroit flair, since May 2019. Concurrently, Nelson holds the position of Ambassador at the Shinola Hotel and serves as the Founder of The Seen Detroit. Prior experience includes roles as Creative Director at 1701 Bespoke, Sales Associate at Shinola, Ralph Lauren, Nordstrom, Banana Republic, and EXPRESS. Nelson's educational background includes attendance at Wayne State University and Grand Rapids Community College, alongside a high school diploma from Martin Luther King Jr. Sr. High School.
Shinola Hotel
Located in downtown Detroit, the Shinola Hotel will live within five buildings on the 1400 block of Woodward Avenue. Once home to the old Rayl’s Hardware store and Singer Sewing Machine Company, the soon-to-be Shinola Hotel property will feature 129 rooms, four different restaurants and bars, several all-season rooftop patios and a new Shinola storefront, in addition to other world-class amenities.
